During Christmas, the families living in Timber Run in Granite Quarry collected canned goods for Food for Thought, which sends food home on the weekends for needy students in Rowan County schools.

At Christmas, the residents provided canned goods which were used as the base for the candles in luminaries for the neighborhood.  The cans were then collected and used to fill more than 100 bags for the nonprofit. The bags included soup, vegetables, pasta, fruit, snacks and more.
