UPDATE: Highway Patrol continues investigation into fatal collision involving pedestrian on NC 96

UPDATE: The  State Highway Patrol has now identified the Hispanic male pedestrian involved in the fatal collision that occurred on Dec. 26, 2014 in Wake County.  The man has been identified as Mateo Martinez Rodriguez, 55, of 153 Happy Trails Lane, Newton Grove.  Family of Mr. Rodriguez was located in the state of Texas by the Mexican Consulate.

 

 

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is respectfully requesting the public’s assistance in providing any additional leads on the identity of a Hispanic male killed as a result of a vehicle collision that took place on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014.

The collision occurred on NC 96 near Old Pearce Road just outside Wake Forest which involved a pedestrian and an SUV.  The pedestrian was struck by the SUV while standing in the roadway.

Investigators located several different forms of identification on the male pedestrian reflecting different aliases. Highway Patrol investigators have exhausted every lead to locate the male pedestrian’s true identify and any possible location of next of kin.

The aliases located are as follows: Mateo Martin Rodriguez and Camilo Avending Urieta
