Rowan weather: Messy week possible

Looks like we’re in for a week of drizzle, below normal temperatures and a chance of freezing rain.

With drizzle and occasional heavy rain this morning, we’re starting out at 36 degrees. The rain should last into the afternoon, and may be followed by fog. The high today will be 43 degrees, with calm winds. Chance of rain is 90 percent.

Tonight there is a 40 percent chance of rain, and the low temperature won’t get much lower than the high, at around 40 degrees. Wind will begin to pick up from the north northeast at 5 to 9 mph.

Tuesday still has a 40 percent chance of rain and we’ll be stuck at 40, with northeast wind at 11 mph. Tuesday night is when the trouble could start. Although the chance of rain remains at 40 percent, what falls could turn into freezing rain, with a low around 30 and northeast winds of 8-10 mph.

The chance of freezing rain lingers into Wednesday, mainly before 10 a.m., with temperatures rising to 39. North northeast winds will be lighter, at 3-7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Again on Wednesday night, we have a 20 chance of freezing rain in the wee hours, with another low of 30.

Thursday brings a 30 percent chance of freezing rain in the morning, then rain, with a high of 42. Thursday night, the low will be around 29.
