New Year’s Resolution

The Christmas rush is behind us and 2015 is just days away. We had a great 2014 and hope for the same next year. Bridge players, please make a resolution to join us in 2015. Our Friday, Dec. 19 dinner was so much fun. Santo’s was able to accommodate 20 of us; players and spouses. We will do it again next year.

The Friday, Dec. 19 Club Championship game was well attended.  Winners were: N/S First, Ron and Shirley Jeffers; second, Wayne Pegram and Maggie Canup; third, Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles. E/W First Pat Featherston and Dick Brisbin; second, Judy Gealy and Carol Bachl; third, John nd Myrnie McLaughlin. Over-all winners were First Ron and Shirley Jeffers; second, Pat Featherston and Dick Brisbin; third, Wayne Pegram and Maggie Canup; fourth, Judy Gealy and Carol Bachl; fifith, John and Myrnie McLaughlin.

Featured today is board #27 from Friday the 19th game. No one vulnerable South dealer

With this hand, all pairs played in Hearts N/S except 1 E/W pair who stole the bid and played the hand in Spades. Betsy Bare and Gloria Bryant had the best N/S score bidding 5H making 6 while Joe O’Brien and Genny Mozolak had the best E/W score bidding  4S going down 1 trick.

Women’s Club Championship game Tuesday, Dec. 23 winners were First Wayne Pegram and visitor Everet Halsall; second, Ron and Shirley Jeffers,; third, Dick Brisbin and David Goff.

The Women’s Club will resume playing Tuesday, Jan. 6 and Evergreen will resume Jan. 9.
