Rowan weather: Oh, the weather outside is frightful

Yuck. It’s cold, drizzly, and will be for the next three days, too.

Today we have an 80 percent chance or rain or drizzle, with a cold high of just 40 degrees. Plus, the wind will blow from the northeast at 9 mph. Not much changes tonight, either. more rain, a 50 percent chance, plus patchy fog and a low around 38, with more northeast wind.

Tuesday will be rainy, too, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation, and a high of just 43. The wind will die down a bit during the day. And a 100 percent chance of rain Tuesday night. The temperature will not change —  the low will also be 43, making it a raw day all around.

Be careful in your last-minute dashing about.

Then, crazy weather. The high Christmas Eve will be 62, some forecasts say as high as 70, with another 100 percent chance of rain and a possible thunderstorm. The wind will blow from the south. Showers continue Christmas Eve night, with a 60 percent chance of rain. The low will be 37.

But here’s a Christmas miracle — Thursday, Christmas Day, should be sunny and near 54 degrees. Christmas night we’ll be at the freezing mark.

No snow, though. Still, Christmas Day will be nice enough the children can try their new bikes or scooters.

Friday should be sunny and warmer, with a high near 56; Friday’s low will be around 36.

Saturday, too, should be sunny and 56, with a low of 36, and Sunday should be mostly sunny and near 48 degrees.

And we can begin the countdown to Christmas 2015 all over again.
