Kannapolis PD promotes Lafferty

KANNAPOLIS — Timothy Lafferty has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and assigned to the Community Services Unit within the Kannapolis Police Department.

Lafferty began his career with department in 2005 as a patrol officer and served in that capacity until he was assigned as school resource officer at A.L. Brown High School in 2011.  He is a current member of the agency’s Special Response Team and serves as a field training officer.

A 1999 graduate of Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, Calif., Lafferty holds a basic law enforcement certificate from the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and has completed 2,134 hours of professional training.

He is the son of John and Susan Lafferty of Salisbury.  He and his wife, Amber, have one daughter, Bryn.
