Cold and damp are the keywords for today. We have a 20 percent chance of showers and temperatures will rise to just 41 from 7:30 a.m.’s 36 degrees.

Adding to the discomfort will be a north northeast wind at 9-11 mph. Tonight, the chance of rain rises to 30 percent, with a low of 34 and wind from the north.

Tuesday we get a bit of a break, with partly sunny skies and a high near 52. We’ll have winds again, this time from the northwest at 6-11 mph, with gusts up to 18 mph. Tuesday night’s low will be right at the freezing mark.

Wednesday, sunny and 50 and the wind will keep blowing from the northwest, at 9-14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Wednesday night will be very cold, with a low of 29.

More sun on Thursday, and no wind in the forecast. We’ll hit about 49 degrees. Thursday night will be clear and cold again, with a low of 28.

Friday, we’ll be a tiny bit warmer under sunny skies, with a high near 52 and a low around 29.

The weekend looks pretty good, too, with more sun on Saturday and a high near 54. The low will be 31.

Sunday should be sunny and near 55.

Not bad for December weather. A good weekend to get out and pick a tree or pick up those last-minute gifts.
