Ward wins Patterson Farm Pumpkin Dash Adventure Run

Pumpkins, mud and rotten tomatoes only slowed Joseph Ward briefly as he rolled to an easy win in the Pumpkin Dash Adventure Run on Saturday. Ward posted the fastest overall time of 27 minutes and 49 seconds. Ashleigh Lambert led the women with a time of 32 minutes and 40 seconds. The course distance was approximately 3.8 miles.

Lilia Jenkins and Amanda Nance of Team Jodi won the two-person female team competition while Mercedes and Manual Velez, called the Warriors, won the team male completion. The top two- person coed team was Chad Moose and Kim Gragg of the Dream Team.    

In the four-person team competition, the Seizure Ferrets of Helen, Roger and Dorothy Malone along with Megan Guzman placed as the top coed team. The female four-person team of Ashleigh Lambert, Rebecca Little, Lyndy Buffet, and Christine Sparger set the pace as the Last Minute Crew.

Henry Goodnight, overall second place finisher, celebrated his birthday by running the obstacle course. Goodnight was awarded a special Pumpkin Dash Birthday Bash trophy. Bill Saunders of Richmond, Va.,  was awarded the “Farthest Traveled” trophy.

All proceeds from the Pumpkin Dash will go to the Rowan County United Way. Sponsors for the event were Patterson Farm Market and Tours, Miller Davis, Carolina Farm Credit, Novant Health, James River Equipment, LL Goodnight Feed and Seed, and the Salisbury Rowan Runners.
