In just over a month, four houses in China Grove will be open, unlocked and ready for visitors as a part of the annual Christmas tour.
The annual tour will be Dec. 6 and Judy Haire, a member of the Historical Society of South Rowan, said tickets are now on sale for $30 per person. Tickets are limited to the first 100 guests.
As a part of the tour, Haire said tour participants would be able to see the interior of four homes. She said three are newer homes and one is an older house.
“It’s a great way to start off the Christmas season and get in the mood for Christmas,” Haire said. “They’ll see the decoration in the homes and a lot of times on the bus, we’ll sing Christmas songs.”
The houses on the tour are in the Millers Grove and Castlebrooke Farms communities. The tour also includes houses on Miller Road and a historical home in China Grove.
As a part of the tour, dinner will be provided by Embellish Boutique. Dinner will be served at the China Grove Roller Mill.
Revenue from the event will be used to help maintain the China Grove Roller Mill, which opened it’s basement last month to the public for the first time.
“It’s expensive to keep the doors open between utilities, insurance and other expenses,” Haire said. “We depend on the tour. Our other income is from dues, donations from individuals and businesses that support the historical society.”
