Four taken to hospital after Mooresville Road head-on collision

Four people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle head-on collision in the 8500 block of Mooresville Road, not far from White Road.
The names and extent of injuries were not immediately available, but according to incident commander Bradley McKnight of Locke Fire Department, all parties were taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center to be evaluated for injuries.
Responders included Locke Fire Department, Rowan Rescue Squad and Rowan EMS, who were dispatched at 1:20 p.m. West Rowan Fire Department also responded and detoured traffic onto White Road. Traffic was also detoured on the other end of the crash at Patterson Road.
The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. A blue Toyota Camry was nestled on the roadside with extensive damage to its front bumper and a black Honda CRV remained on the road, also with extensive damage to the front bumper.
