Craft and vendor expo today at Warrior Golf Club in China Grove

Warrior Golf Club, on Lake Wright Road in China Grove, is having a craft and vendor expo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Vendors include Pampered Chef, Pink Zebra, Thirty-one gifts and Origami Owl.
Chick-N-Ale is open at 115 E. Innes Street. The founding store serves “Southern soul food with a modern twist” and has a selection of craft beers. Menu items include: deep-fried chicken, collard greens, salads and sandwiches, ribs, white cheddar macaroni and cheese, fish and buffalo wings.
Hours are: Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays noon to 9 p.m. When you come in, go to the bar to place your order. Carry out available.
North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker will speak at the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce’s Power in Partnership breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 a.m. at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road.

MOORESVILLE — The Orthopedic and Spine Center of Lake Norman is hosting a free seminar titled “Treatment of Knee Pain and Injuries,” on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in the hospital’s Community Room B. David Hillsgrove, an orthopedic surgeon with Northshore Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center, is the guest presenter.
Hillsgrove will provide a question-and-answer opportunity at the conclusion of the program. Lake Norman Regional Orthopedic Nurse Navigator Jaycee Marks will be present and available to answer any questions about The Orthopedic and Spine Center of Lake Norman and pre-op and post-op hospital questions.

The Center for the Environment at Catawba College, in partnership with the University of North Carolina Nutrition Research Institute, will host a community lecture Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in room 300 at the center.
Folami Ideraabdullah will discuss new findings that show how environmental chemical exposures may be linked to common human diseases and how current research can lead to prevention or treatment.
