Zombies overrun downtown Salisbury

The Zombies moaned and they groaned and they shuffled along. Then they went on a bar crawl.
Hey, they’re undead, not anti-social.
The Downtown Salisbury Zombie Walk returned Friday for its fifth edition.
More than 1,000 bodies — undead and otherwise — crowded into downtown for the walk and events following, which included special guests and several bands. Teams of zombie hunters roamed the streets, and infection survivors tried to stay alive.
Aside from being a lot of fun, the walk is meant to raise awareness about disaster preparedness and serves as a benefit for the Humane Society of Rowan County and Mr. Mike’s Food Pantry.
Even zombies have hearts. They’re just not beating.
