Rowan weather: Friday’s a bust, but weekend looks great

Damp morning No. 3 comes in advance of Friday’s rain.
But today will turn sunny, with a high near 84 and tonight will be calm, with a low of 61.
Friday is when the trouble starts, with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day, then an 80 percent of showers and thunderstorms during the night.
The high will be 79, with south winds increasing to 8-13 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. The rainfall won’t amount to much, though, maybe a tenth of an inch, maybe more in a thunderstorm.
Showers and storms are likely Friday night, mainly before 11 p.m., with a low of 58 and more wind from the south southwest.
But Saturday looks great — sunny and 68. You might be surprised by a west-northwest wind at around 14 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph. And Saturday night will be a real shocker, too — with a low of 42 degrees.
Sunday looks beautiful, too, with sunny skies and a high of 66. The low will be 46, so hold on to the blankets for another night.
Monday should be mostly sunny and 72, with a low around 52.
And the trend continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies Tuesday and a high of 74. The low will be 55, but the rebound Wednesday will lead to sunny skies and a high near 76.
A rainy Friday is OK, if we get all the beautiful weather promised for the days after.
