A Spencer man faces drug charges after police were called concerning the smell of marijuana coming from his motel room.
Willie Earnest Fields, 21, was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and stolen goods.
According to a report, police received a call from the Super 8 motel, located in the 900 block of Bendix Drive, because employees could smell marijuana.
When police located Fields’ room and knocked, a woman came to the door as Fields was trying to lock himself in the bathroom, the report said.
Police found a pickle jar with marijuana residue in the bathroom beside the toilet, a marijuana roach in an ash tray, a small bag of marijuana in Fields’ pocket and $370. A digital scale and a stolen semiautomatic pistol were found in his backpack.
Fields was arrested and issued a $10,000 bond.
