CHINA GROVE — The Price of Freedom Museum will hold its annual Remembrance of 9/11 Day and “Memories of Yesteryears” Sept. 13.
The festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the museum grounds, 2420 Weaver Road (the intersection of Weaver and Patterson roads).
This year, the program has been expanded to include many old and new fire trucks, police cars and rescue equipment, to go along with restored farm equipment.
There also will be a “Smoke House” for visitors to go through, as well as fire safety tips for children.
Bluegrass and gospel groups will be providing music, and visitors will be able to tour the museum and see the progress being made on the restoration of the various rooms in the old Patterson School.
Cofounder Bobby Mault promises that a lot of changes have occurred since last year.
We Care Ministry will be sponsoring and selling its ‘“Backyard BBQ.” Food tickets are available in advance for $7 by calling 704-857-3208 to place your order.
People interested in bringing their restored cars or farm equipment to the museum on Sept. 13 are being asked to call Mault at 704-857-7474 by Sept. 5.
