Beginning Monday, Aug. 18, the 900 block of Shive Road will be closed while contractors for NC DOT replace the bridge over a tributary to Second Creek. The point of closure is approximately .75 mile east of the intersection of Shuping Mill Road (SR 2559).
Motorists will still be able to access residences and businesses on either side of the bridge construction area, up to the points of closure. Construction should be complete and the road reopened by Friday, Nov. 28.
The following signed offsite detour will be used during the closure: Shuping Mill Road, Old Beatty Ford Road, Organ Church Road.
