Police are looking for anyone with information on the theft of a food truck from a local nonprofit agency. Investigators say thieves broke through a fence to gain access to the truck and burst through a rear fence and through a field on the back side of the property.
Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency reported the incident occurred Thursday around 12:20 a.m. at 1300 West Bank Street.
A report said the truck, a white 2001 Ford F-150 extended cab with a refrigerator/heated food service box on the back was taken.
The thieves hit a bus getting out of the parking lot and drove through rear gates, demolishing them, said Capt. Shelia Lingle.
She said the truck was driven across a field to a dead end at West Fisher Street and the suspects turned right onto Partee Street. A trail of mud showed officers which direction the truck was headed. The tracks faded around Partee, Lingle said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
