The Daugherty Road bridge over I-85 near China Grove is closing at 8 a.m. today for the start of a bridge deck repair project. The closure is expected to be in place until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 30.
A signed detour will direct motorists around the closure, using Old Linn Road, Pine Ridge Road to cross over I-85 north of the project site, U.S. 29 and China Grove Road.
NCDOT reminds motorists to use caution in the area, watch for detour and construction signs and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
