Sarah Shirley Michalec Russell Andrew Michalec

Sarah Shirley Michalec graduated summa cum laude from Radford University in Radford, Va., May 10, 2014, with a Bachelor of Science in Design with Concentration in Merchandising and a Minor in Marketing. A founding member and officer of Pi Sigma Epsilon honor fraternity, Sarah’s senior portfolio was selected as Best Overall.
A 2010 honor graduate of Salisbury High School, Sarah is the daughter of Nancy Ruff Shirley and the late Steven Shirley of Salisbury. Her grandparents are Richard and Patty Ruff of Newberry, S.C., and Ron and Sandy Shirley of Williamsburg, Va.
Russell Andrew Michalec graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury on May 17, 2014, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance and a Minor in Spanish. While at Catawba, he was a member of the Student Conduct Board, Assistant Coordinator for Intramural Sports and a member of the baseball team.
A 2009 honor graduate of Salisbury High School, he is the son of Leigh Reed Michalec of Salisbury and the grandson of Charlie and Genny Reed of Salisbury. He will attend Elon University School of law in the fall.
