Vintage dolls and toys from the Spencer Doll and Toy Museum are being exhibited at the China Grove Roller Museum for the June Open House on Sunday, June 8 from 2-4 p.m. The Roller Mill is located at 308 N. Main St., China Grove.
Opened in 2012, the museum began as a tribute to the doll collection of Amy Dawn Morris who died in 1996 at the age of 21. Her family helped open the museum and since 2012, many other toy and doll collectors from all over the United States have loaned their toys for display.
Kathy Gregg, the museum administrator, will be on hand to talk about the exhibits and to answer questions about vintage toys, which are a reflection of the culture, the time period, as well as the owner’s personal identity.
Visitors are invited to bring their own vintage toys and share their stories of them. Light refreshments will be served and admission is free.
