SPENCER — The popular Polar Express Train Ride is coming to the N.C. Transportation Museum this holiday season.
The museum’s foundation will bring the train experience based on the hit book and movie “The Polar Express” to Spencer. The event will run for 44 shows on 17 nights between Thanksgiving and Christmas, featuring 25 actors provided by Lee Street Theatre. The experience immerses children in scenes from the movie during an hour-long train ride.
There are about 35 official Polar Express events in the country. Spencer’s attraction will have the only Polar Express in the United States featuring a roundhouse.
Lee Street Theatre in Salisbury also will serve as the production company, providing lights, sound, special effects and more, artistic director Justin Dionne said.
