Two hurt in Kannapolis accident; one flown out to hospital
KANNAPOLIS — Two people were injured in a traffic accident Saturday, and one was impaled by an object.
At 11:49 a.m., the Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a traffic accident involving a person entrapped between two vehicles. Fire crews arrived at 11:52 a.m. to find multiple injured patients and quickly upgraded the call to a rescue assignment.
All patients were freed at 12:23 p.m. The entrapped patient was freed and transported to a landing zone before being airlifted to a nearby medical facility.
A second patient, who suffered an impaled object in the leg, was freed and was transported by Cabarrus County EMS.
The Kannapolis Police Department is investigating the accident.
