Rowan weather: They say it’s going to rain

Today is our best chance for rain this week, but some of those showers and thunderstorms will move slowly across the area and could result in very heavy rainfall over a small area. That could lead to flooding, especially if several thunderstorms cross the same area or if the location has poor drainage.
The 50 percent chance of rain today and 60 percent tonight also brings the potential for storms to become strong, with damaging winds and large hall, along with cloud-to-ground lightning.
Storms and showers will move in this afternoon, otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 83. Tonight, storms should taper off around 11, with a low near 64.
A 40 percent chance of rain continues into Friday, when it will be mostly cloudy and around 80. Friday night’s low will be about 62, with a continuing chance of rain.
There’s still no mention of rain through the weekend. Saturday will be partly sunny and 79 with a light breeze. Look for a low around 58.
Mostly sunny skies are expected Sunday, with another high of 79 and a low of 58.
Even Monday and Tuesday look good, although we’re back in the heat Tuesday. Expect mostly sunny skies Monday with a high of 84 and a low around 63.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny again, but hotter, with a high near 87 and a low of 66.
First mention of rain comes Wednesday, with a 30 percent chance and a high near 90.
