Police officials say a Wadesboro man accused of frequently selling drugs out of a Bringle Ferry Road rental home was charged Wednesday with trying to get rid of drugs intended for sale.
Salisbury Police charged Charles Matthew Still, 45, also known as Charles Steele, of the 100 block of Bennet Street, with felony possession of a controlled substance schedule II and felony altering, destroying evidence of criminal conduct.
Officers served a search warrant around noon in the 600 block of Bringle Ferry Road at a home authorities said was rented and used for the purpose of selling drugs there. When officers arrived, Still had one hand in the toilet bowl and the other hand flushing it. Police found a small amount of crack cocaine on the floor beside the toilet. Other small amounts of cocaine were found in the living room on a table. Officials seized $939 in cash, .2 grams of crack cocaine and a small corner piece of a plastic bag that had some residue inside it.
Authorities had complaints from residents and obtained a search warrant after an investigation.
Still was convicted of assault on a female, felony drug possession, driving while license revoked, financial card fraud, maintaining a dwelling place for controlled substances, possession with intent to sell cocaine, identity fraud/theft, and habitual felon. He has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
