Yesterday: When East Innes Street was residential
Way back in the day, East Innes Street was one of the most fashionable residential addresses in Salisbury. In this photograph, Thomas Adam Coughenour poses with his family in the yard of their home at 228 E. Innes St., between Depot Street and the railroad tracks. This spot is occupied today by the Robertson Gateway Park, which includes a handsome fountain. Hardly any houses (the Post counts two) survive on East Innes Street today between the Square and Interstate 85.
