Carson rolled 7-0 at Robinson in non-conference baseball on Monday.
John Daugherty pitched three innings, Dillon Atwell pitched the fourth, and Heath Mitchem threw the final three frames.
It was the sixth shutout for the Cougars, who are 9-1 in road games.
Carson (17-5) had nine hits. Ryan Bearden had a three-run double in the seventh. Mitchem and Matt Saul also had doubles.
“I was really pleased with how well we pitched — Daugherty was sharp,” Carson coach Chris Cauble said. “And we hit the ball hard again.”
• A.L. Brown lost 3-1 at Hopewell in a MECKA game on Monday.
Matt Brown allowed three runs in the first inning before settling in and retiring 15 straight Titans.
A.L. Brown was held to two hits by Drew Goodman, who fanned 11 Wonders.
Still in the hunt for a 4A playoff berth, A.L. Brown hosts Hopewell on Senior Night Thursday.
• West Davidson won 7-1 against East Davidson on Monday in Tyro and moved into a tie for first place in the CCC.
Graham Shoaf had two hits for the Green Dragons. Zach Queen had two RBIs. Justin “Lefty” Freeman (5-2) struck out 12 and pitched a three-hitter.
West Davidson is scheduled to play at East Davidson Wednesday at 7 in a game that will decide the regular-season championship.
• Central Cabarrus won on Senior Night, beating Northwest Cabarrus 3-1 for an SPC win.
• The Greater Cabarrus Homeschool Stallions won 6-0 against Lake Charter on Monday. Caleb Threadgill had three hits for the Stallions (14-6), while Hunter Shepherd drove in three runs. Shepherd and Tyler Hartsell had two hits each. Noah Jarrett pitched a four-hitter and struck out three.

CCC champion Salisbury hosts West Stanly today in the first round of the 2A dual team playoffs.
SPC champion East Rowan hosts Hibriten today in the first round of the 3A dual team playoffs.
Carson got a 3A wild-card berth and will travel to Marvin Ridge in the first round.
Salisbury defeated Thomasville 9-0 in CCC soccer on Monday.
Salisbury (12-1-1, 7-0) got goals from nine different players. Salisbury coach Matt Parrish said that’s never been done during his 13 years with the girls and boys programs.
Scoring for the Hornets were Katie Bullock, Ceci Cardelle, Kate Grant, Allie Murphy, Susannah Dixon, Emma Labovitz, Maddie Labovitz, Amelia Steinman and Elle Wimmer. Steinman and Wimmer scored their first goals of the season.
Assists were by Emma Labovitz (2), Shelby Holden, Katie Bullock, Maddie Labovitz, and Kate Grant. Juliana Anderson secured the shutout in goal. Next up for the Hornets are key CCC matchups with West Davidson, Wednesday in Tyro and Friday in Salisbury.

South Rowan won 12-1 at Salisbury in a non-conference game on Monday.
Logan Lowery pitched a three-hitter for South (9-9) for her fourth win of the season.
Kacie Stamey went 4-for-4 for the Raiders, including two triples and a double. Caitlin Waters went 4-for-5, with a double and a triple. Samantha Kennerly had three hits and drove in four runs.
Caroline Hubbard and Abby Fields had three hits each. Rileigh Ward had two hits.
In addition to MVP Craig Brooks who was announced Sunday, Catawba baseball players Marr Farmakis, T.J. Wharton, Keaton Hawks, Shaefer Shepard, Jon Wallace and Paul Kronenfeld made All-SAC Tournament.
• Pitcher Carley Tysinger represented Catawba on the All-SAC Tournament softball team.

Mick Rowell made a hole-in-one on No 10 at Crescent on Monday.
Rowell used a 9-iron on the 131-yard hole for his first career ace. Jan Kichefski, Frank Rowell and John Cress witnessed the feat.
• The McCanless Couples played on Sunday with a Captain’s Choice format.
The team of Harry Owens, Jan Godwin, Sharon Miller, Ricky Honeycutt and DonGoodnight finished first. The team of Walt Kincaid, Kim Kincaid, Bryan Reynolds and Glenn Trexler placed second. The team of Allen Drew, Chris Curtis, Tommy Reynolds and Jacob Durham placed third. Honeycutt won closest to the pin. Curtis won longest putt.
• In the latest Thursday Scramble at Rolling Hills, Ron Eidson, Gary Johnson, Johnny Carpenter, Harry Owens and Debby Little were winners. Closest to the pin winners were Mike Hardister, Henry Morgan, Eidson and Jimmy Coone.
Salisbury’s had the highest GPA in the state for girls golf teams with a 3.8.
• East Rowan’s Logan Shuping shot 76-74 — 150 to finish 10th in the UNC Golf for Promise Junior Classic held at Finley Golf Club over the weekend.
Catawba’s Madison Kennedy (Salisbury) was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year for SAC women’s golf.
Kennedy was All-SAC and finished second in the SAC Championships.
She had a 78.85 stroke average and has a 3.89 GPA in accounting and marketing.

Salisbury’s Taylor Rodenhuis will swim for Army and will make that official today.
West Rowan Middle won 7-1 against Mooresville Middle on Monday. Owen White stuck out 12 for the Bulldogs. Olen Stamper and Payne Stolwsorth had perfect days at the plate. combining for a 5-for-5 effort.
West (9-1) plays Southeast on Thursday.

Middle school golf
Sacred Heart won the CCSIAA Middle School Conference Championship on Monday at the Country Club of Salisbury.
Sacred Heart won with a score of 165 and defended its conference title.
Concordia finished second at 170, while Salisbury Academy finished third with a 176. Hickory Christian shot 210.
Sacred Heart was led by medalist Michael Childress with an even par score of 35. Will Taylor shot a career-best 39 and made an eagle on the No. 3 hole.
Alex Antosek shot 40 for Sacred Heart. Other scores were Harrison Parrott 51, Eric Turnbull 53 and Sean Archer 53.
The Sacred Heart ‘B’ team was led by Ben Childress’ 42 and Luke Graeber’s 50.
Salisbury Academy was led by fifth-grader Charlie Barr with a 38. He was second invidually.
Other scores for Sacred Heart were Hank Robins 43, Walker Hart Pence 46, Mitch Jeter 49, George Fisher 50 and Adam Drye 54.
Michael Childress, Taylor, Antosek, Barr and Robins were all-conference.
Sacred Heart is coached by Charlie Graeber. Salisbury Academy is coached by Brian Lee.
