Rowan weather: High fire danger today

The National Weather Service says we’ll have an increased fire danger today, due to gusty winds and humidity levels in the upper 20 percent range. The danger is that any fire will spread quickly. People are encouraged not to do any outdoor burning.
It’s a mild morning today, and expected to reach a high near 76 under sunny skies. Winds will increase from the southwest from 9-14 mph up to 16-21 mph this afternoon with gusts as high as 32 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low near 51.
Saturday will be sunny and a bit warmer, near 78, but with little wind. Saturday night will be around 55 degrees.
Sunday looks like a repeat of Saturday, with a high of 78, but winds will pick up again with gusts around 18 mph. The low will be around 55 again.
Look for a 50 percent chance of showers Monday, with a high near 74. The rain chance is 70 percent Monday night with a low of 58. Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms are likely, with a high near 67. Chance of rain is 70 percent. Showers continue into the evening, when it will turn much cooler, with a low around 39.
Wednesday, the sun comes out again, but the high will be only 58 and the low will dip to 37. Thursday should still be sunny with a high near 61.
