SALISBURY — The city’s Historic Preservation Commission will consider a variety of requests when members meet at 5:15 p.m. Monday in the Council Chamber at the City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
The commission will hear requests for the following certificates of appropriateness:
• 1410 N. Main St. Carolina Eagle L.P., owner; Raymond Bostian, applicant.
Replace all new gutters on building, same as current. Install six new vinyl windows. Repaint roof on building and front overhang. Stone front of building except two brick-looking columns.
Remove all brick on Midway Street side of building and re-brick complete side with new brick. Brick over block on back of building using same brick type.
Remove metal and lay brick down the complete side of building using same brick type. When completed, all brick on building will be the same.
Paint red stripe on metal black. Paint metal above red stripe. Replace green cloth awning with new black awning on driveway side of building, same as current. Replace old landscaping. Install new brick sign.
• 1016 Scales St. Linda Mines, owner/applicant.
Replace aged, missing and disintegrating asphalt shingles with Hardiplank. Color will coordinate with future exterior colors and roof colors.
• 219 S. Lee St. Clyde, owner/applicant.
Build a 73-inch high wooden fence to obscure city sculpture.
In other business on Monday’s agenda:
• The commission will hear a city staff report and update on Clyde’s property at 220 E. Bank St.
• Notification of request for partial demolition of non-original addition at 124 Ridge Ave. by Destiny City Church, owner
• Committee for approval of historic preservation grants
• Nominating committee for new chairman and vice chairman
