Rowan 4-H members receive awards

Rowan County 4-H held its Achievement Night Banquet on Feb. 22 at the Extension Center on Old Concord Road. Achievement night is an annual event in the life of a 4-H member to recognize all of his or her accomplishments and participation during the past year.
Receiving 4-Her of the year awards were Hannah Barringer and Nathan Gobble. Hannah is the daughter of Gina and George Barringer of Faith. Hannah is a member of the East Equine Explorers 4-H Club and has been a 4-H member since 2009. She attends Carson High School.
Nathan is the son of Bryant and Sherry Gobble of Spencer. Nathan is a member of the All Creatures Great & Small 4-H Club, Home Achievers 4-H Club and the Hot Shots 4-H Shooting Sports 4-H Club and has been a member of 4-H since 2010.
Presenting the awards was the previous year’s recipient, Maria Weber, daughter of Suzanne and Joel Weber of Granite Quarry.
Receiving their achievement medals for meeting five yearly goals of 4-H achievement level accomplishments were Hannah Barringer and Micah Furr. Micah is the daughter of Ann and Stephen Furr of Rockwell and is a member of the East Equine Explorers and attends Gray Stone Day School.
