Police release names of weekend shooting victims

Salisbury Police have released the names of three men who were shot over the weekend during an incident that occurred near Grim Street and Alexander Lane.
Police say James Jermaine Little, 23, of Salisbury, was one of those shot and shortly after was found lying on the back porch of a residence in the 500 block of Alexander Lane.
The shooting occurred Saturday around 1 a.m. when police received a call that shots were fired among several individuals. Henry Lee Wilder Jr., 27, of East Spencer, was also shot and dropped off at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. The third victim, Antoine Nicholas Darnelle Cherry, 30, of Salisbury, drove himself to the hospital, police officials say. Investigators have not detailed the extent of the victims’ injuries.
Little ran toward Alexander Lane and collapsed on the back porch of the residence. He was taken by ambulance to Rowan Medical. Police believe the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Grim Street between several people. Hospital officials contacted police after two more victims with gunshot wounds arrived at the hospital. Two people were flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, police spokewsoman Capt. Shelia Lingle said in a press release issued on Saturday. The investigation continues.
