LEXINGTON (AP) — Davidson County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man who they say carried a gun into the county courthouse.
Deputies say 27-year-old Michael Tyrone Mayo Jr. of Lexington walked to a security checkpoint Monday, placed his coat on the table and walked through the scanner. A deputy put Mayo’s coat in a scanner and found a .380-caliber handgun.
Mayo is charged with possession of a weapon on state property or a courthouse and carrying a concealed weapon.
It was not clear if Mayo has an attorney.
