Rowan-Salisbury schools closed early, delayed tomorrow

The Rowan-Salisbury School System will operate on a three-hour delay for students and a one-hour delay for staff Tuesday due to winter weather conditions.
School officials plan to monitor conditions throughout the night and will make a final decision about whether or not to cancel classes entirely by 8:30 a.m. if needed.
Schools closed one hour early and all afternoon activities were cancelled this afternoon as well.
Students will not have to make up the hours missed.
Kannapolis City Schools have not yet made a decision concerning Tuesday’s classes. Director of Community Relations Ellen Boyd said she expects school administrators to make the decision early tomorrow morning.
Kannapolis City School officials decided not to release school early today and one afternoon activity at A.L. Brown High School was canceled.
The National Weather service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. tonight until 11 a.m. tomorrow that includeds Rowan and Cabarrus counties. Freezing rain, black ice and sleet could cause hazzardous travel condiditions.
