Commissioners will discuss a sewer easement Monday at the request of officials with the Rowan County Agricultural and Industrial Fair.
Rowan County Fair Manager John Love submitted a letter to commissioners March 3 indicating the necessity of the addition.
“A septic system on our property isn’t an option, so our only solution is to tie onto the city system,” Love wrote.
Several items are on the commissioners’ consent agenda as well, including renewing a lease for Amos Aviation, soliciting an external auditor for the county and recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Located at Rowan County Airport, Amos Aviation specializes in flight instruction and pipeline patrols.
The business leases two T-hangars and office space at the airport.
The company’s lease expires March 30, and Amos Aviation officials are looking to renew the lease for an additional three years and also add a computer assisted testing center to allow flight students to complete the written test requirement of their training locally.
The office rent will increase from $250 per month to $275 per month.
Commissioners also will look at approving a recommendation from county staff to contract with Martin Starnes & Associates to conduct Rowan County’s annual audit.
Auditing services will be conducted for a cost not to exceed $33,500 for the fiscal year ending June 30.
