MORGANTON (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in Burke County are looking for a person of interest after a couple was found dead inside their home.
The sheriff’s office said friends of the couple hadn’t heard from them since Friday and contacted authorities. When deputies reached the home on Wednesday, the couple’s bodies were found in the home. Officials said there was a sign of a struggle.
Authorities also said a vehicle was missing from the property.
Freedom High School was placed on lockdown at 12:30 p.m. because of the investigation.
