COOLEEMEE — The annual Shamrock BBQ will be March 22 starting at noon on the grounds of the Zachary House, 131 Church St.
Weather permitting, a kite-flying contest will start at 1 p.m. Participants can bring their own kites or buy one at the event.
Visitors can buy a barbecue sandwich for $3 or a barbecue plate for $6. Organizers will take orders for Boston Butts at $30 apiece. To place an order, call 336-284-6040 or 336-749-1961 by Saturday.
Proceeds from the barbecue will help maintain Cooleemee’s three heritage museums, the Textile Heritage Center Museum, the Mill House Museum and the Fire Fighters Museum.
