Salisbury Rowan Silver Arts Bridge

Published 12:00 am Sunday, February 23, 2014

Spring brings the beginning of the Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games. The games include personal and team sporting events as well as Silver Arts like hand work, cooking, carving, painting and photography. There are competitions in all counties and a final event in Raleigh.
A few years ago Salisbury/Rowan added a duplicate bridge game to the list of events. Trinity Oaks Retirement Community is once again sponsoring and hosting us on March 3 at 1 p.m. Entries for the bridge will be honored through Feb. 26 and can be made by calling Phyllis Kluttz at 704-216-7780 or Myrnie McLaughlin at 704-636-9781. Hope you can join us to compete for the Gold, Silver or Bronze.
As you read this we are finishing our last day at the Dogwood Tournament. Our next Evergreen game will be Friday, Feb. 28.
The only game we can report on is the Tuesday, Feb. 18 Women’s Club game. Winners were: First, Gloria Bryant and Wayne Pegram; second, John and Myrnie Mclaughlin.
Our featured board is #24 from Tuesday’s game. Anna and David Goff had the best N/S score defeating 3HE 2 tricks while Jean and Loyd Hill had the best E/W score bidding and making 2NT East.
