Granite Quarry aldermen plan budget retreat

GRANITE QUARRY — The Granite Quarry Board of Aldermen will hold a goal-setting exercise and budget retreat Friday and Saturday.
Aldermen are expected to meet at the town administration building from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until after 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
Here’s the tentative schedule for the two days:
10 a.m. — departmental presentations: police, human resources, maintenance, planning/zoning and codes, fire and Salisbury-Rowan Utilities
12:30 p.m. — meal break and question-and-answer session with departments
1:30 p.m. — Centralina Council of Governments and economic development
2:30 p.m. — tourism update
3:30 p.m. — downtown task force
4:30 p.m. — mayor’s comments
9 a.m. — mayor’s comments and revitalization team update
10 a.m. — Granite Quarry Business Alliance
10:45 a.m. — Economic Development Commission with question-and-answer session with the board
noon — lunch.
1 p.m. — manager’s review of last year’s goals.
1:15 p.m. — vision and board goal-setting.
