Next week, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of Peeler Road in Rowan County to make repairs to the bridge over Town Creek.
On Monday, Feb. 10, weather permitting, crews will close Peeler Road just west of I-85 to make repairs to the bridge girders and steel plank flooring. This section of Peeler Road will remain closed for the duration of the work, which is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.
Local traffic will be able to access homes and businesses from either end of Peeler Road, but will not be able to pass beyond the closure points on either side of Town Creek. To detour around the work zone, motorists on Peeler Road will be directed to take I-85 to Webb Road to U.S. 29/South Main Street back to Peeler Road. A map of the detour route can be seen here.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
