Rowan-Salisbury changes snow make-up day to Feb. 14

Rowan-Salisbury School System officials say students will make up today’s snow day on Feb. 14, instead of this Saturday as originally planned.
The school system made the announcement this morning.
Today all non-essential Salisbury city operations will be closed, including City Hall, city office building and all recreation centers. All essential operations will continue, which includes public safety, police and fire, as well as public service operations as they attend to roadways. City transit service will not operate.
The Salisbury Police Department is advising that citizens should travel only if necessary.
Additional weather related information affecting city operations may be issued through the public information office and will also be available through the city’s Facebook page and Twitter feed, as well as the website at www.salisburync.gov.
Rowan County offices will open at 10 a.m. today. Rowan Transit is closed today.
Rowan Public Library will open at 10 a.m.
The Rowan County Courthouse is operating on its regular schedule.
Rufty-Holmes Senior Center and all lunch club sites are closed.
Meals on Wheels will not be delivered and the office is closed.
Livingstone and Catawba colleges are closed today.
The Saleeby-Fisher YMCA, East Rowan Branch will close at 6 p.m. No afternoon or evening land or water exercise classes.
