In a Thursday story about an Eagle Scout project which will establish a memorial for slain Marine Lance Cpl. Nathan Elrod, the headline referred to Elrod as a “soldier.” It should have said “Marine.” The Post follows guidelines of the Associated Press Stylebook, which specifically says, “Do not describe Marines as soldiers, which is generally associated with the Army.”
