Building sprinklers keep fire at Nashville Nights from spreading

Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at Nashville Nights in downtown Salisbury shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday.
The building’s sprinkler system activated and put out the small trash can fire in an upstairs office.
“Had this building not been sprinklered, then it is very probable that a serious fire would result and consume one or more downtown buildings,” said Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell.
Parnell said there was a little damage to the ceiling and wood floor, but he added that the night club should be able to reopen in a few days.
