January is Human Trafficking Awareness month. Join us in the fight to end human trafficking.
Did you know that North Carolina is one of the top 10 states nationwide for human trafficking?
Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings, most often women and young children, for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation, forced labor or other compelled services. Last year, slave traders made an estimated $32 billion. That is more than Nike, Google and Starbucks combined.
If you want to learn more about what you can do to help save our youth, call the Family Crisis Council, a United Way agency, at 704-636-4718. We can provide education and help for our community.
