SPENCER — The Spencer Police Department landed a spot on the N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program calendar for 2014.
The month of January in the law enforcement calendar distributed across the state features a large color photo of officers H.M. Shue and J.R. Cayer with their cruisers in front of the N.C. Transportation Museum.
Spencer aldermen received copies of the calendar Tuesday night and praised the new professionalism of the department under Chief Michael James, who retired from a 28-year career with the N.C. Highway Patrol before coming to Spencer in 2010.
