KANNAPOLIS — Fire officials said no one was injured in a mobile home fire that started early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the Kannapolis Parkway home, near Afton Ridge, around 4:45 a.m. The home appeared vacant, crews said, but was under renovation.
In a press release Wednesday, officials said firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the crawl space and at the rear of a double-wide mobile home.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire, the release said, but firefighters remained on the scene Wednesday to monitor possible hot spots from the blaze.
Concord Fire and Life Safety assisted in the incident, while Cabarrus County EMS assisted on scene with medical monitoring for fire personnel.
Officials said the Kannapolis Fire Risk Deduction Division is assisting Kannapolis Police with the investigation.
