South Rowan, East Rowan and Carson wrestlers competed in the prestigious King of the Mat tournament held at Parkland High in Winston-Salem.
South Rowan’s Logan Durham was champion at 106 pounds. South’s Angel Ruiz placed fourth at 113.
East Rowan’s Wyatt Blume was runner-up at 152. East’s Shiheem Saunders was third at 170. East’s Sam Cornacchione was fourth at 106.
Carson’s Alex Lyles was second in the heavyweight division, and Carson’s Brandon Sloop was fifth at 160.
A.L. Brown’s girls won 68-23 against Union Academy.
Kelly Chrismon scored 14 points. Shemya Stanback scored 13, Aitana Grant scored 11, and Talethia Alexander added 10.
