China Grove’s First Baptist to serve Meal of Hope on Christmas

Published 12:00 am Sunday, December 22, 2013

China Grove’s First Baptist Church will hold its fourth annual Meal of Hope Christmas Dinner. A traditional Christmas meal will be served to anyone interested on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 25, from 4-8 p.m. This year the church plans to emphasize carry outs and deliveries, so anyone interested can get a meal and also a gift bag.
Last year, more than 300 people were served. The church hopes for 400 this year. The meal is for anyone who cannot afford a meal, and also for those lonely and saddened by events in their lives. No one will be turned away.
Those who come will get a nice meal and an opportunity for fellowship. There will be special music, and a presentation of the life story of Jesus Christ.
Food donations again will come from Food Lion and IFH Food Service Distribution.
All activities will be in the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church, 302 Patterson St. Church members will serve the meal and provide the other activities. Contact the church office staff from 8 a.m. to noon weekdays, or leave a message anytime at 704-857-5415. Church members will bring the meals to those that need delivery, so provide the address and number of meals needed. Transportation can be arranged for anyone to get to the church.
