Santa’s 5K Run/Walk for Charity scheduled for Saturday

Rowan Helping Ministries will be the recipient of the proceeds from Santa’s 5K Run/Walk for Charity on Saturday, Dec. 7. The event will be at the Millbridge Ruritan Building on Sloan Road, across from Sloan Park. Race start time is 9 a.m. with the half-mile fun run starting at 9:45 a.m. Awards in 14 age groups will be given, and the top overall male and female will receive special awards. Fun run awards will be given to the top three boys and girls, ages 12 and under.
All fun runners will get a finishers medal, and Santa Claus will be on hand to present all awards.
All participants will get a dri-fit long sleeve shirt printed with a Christmas theme. Refreshments will be available after the events.
Canned goods will be collected before and after the event.
Donated food will be dispersed by Rowan Helping Ministries after the race.
Sponsors include Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Gay’s Chapel Methodist Church and Uncle Bucks.
