The 2013 Rowan County “Raised here stays here” campaign was a huge success!
This year’s goal was $1,825,000, and you raised it. Thanks to the thousands of Rowan County folks who made this campaign a success. I have heard testimony from those who were able to give $1 a week, from those who pledged thousands of dollars and from many in between those amounts. Their testimonies all focused on wanting to help those in need, and they believed in their local United Way and the 15 United Way agencies.
Please accept my heartfelt thanks on behalf of our 15 local United Way agencies. Your generosity will help support thousands of Rowan citizens next year. I have met with many of these needy folks and believe me, your support is critical to the welfare of many of our citizens.
Speaking on behalf of the excellent campaign cabinet, it has been our pleasure to participate in the campaign. It has been my personal honor to have been asked to lead the campaign this year. The efficiency of the local United Way staff allows the campaign to remain organized, on time and successful.
I would be remiss if I did not give credit to our Lord for the success of this campaign. Many of us have been on our knees since January, asking the Lord for success and he has granted our prayers. I believe he has been instrumental in touching the hearts of many and guiding us in our campaign.
Thank you, Lord.
Please stay involved with your local United Way. We need you! Again, thank you.
