New Rowan-Salisbury School System Superintendent Dr. Lynn Moody will usher in this year’s Southern Rowan Christmas Parade as its grand marshal.
Moody, who joined the school system in October, will lead the Tuesday parade, which begins in Landis at 3 p.m. and will continue into China Grove beginning at 4 p.m.
Moody was superintendent of the Rock Hill School System in South Carolina prior to being hired in Rowan County to succeed the retired Dr. Judy Grissom.
Parade participants will assemble in Landis from 1:30 p.m. to 2:40 p.m.
The Faith Riders join the parade for the first time, and will feature a collection of horses that will march near the end of the parade just before Santa Claus.
