• Cub Scouts’ November core value is citizenship, so Cub Scout Pack 443, sponsored by St. John’s Luteran Church, showed good citizenship by participating in the Veteran’s Day Parade in Downtown Salisbury on Nov. 11 as a way to give thanks to the men and women who have served and sacrificed for this great country.
Cub Scouts also showed their pride in community by holding a Conservation Project Nov. 9, when they cleaned Ellis Park in Salisbury.
The holiday season will be wrapped up for the year with the Popcorn Drive and Christmas Party. There the boys participate by giving gifts for the Angel Tree.
And everyone looks forward to the classic Pinewood Derby in January and Blue and Gold Banquet in February, where Webelos II Cub Scouts bridge over to Pack 443 Boy Scouts.
It is no surprise that Pack 443 is the four-time winner of the Cub Cup in the Rowan District.
Elementary-age boys interested in camping, exploring and having an awesome time with other boys your age are encouraged to join Pack 443 Cub Scouts.
Regular weekly Monday night den meetings are at St. John’s Church and last an hour between 6:30-8 p.m., depending on the specific den.

• Cub Scout Pack Pack 306, sponsored by North Hills Christian School, enjoyed a long list of summer activities this year. Those included attending the Wild West Cub Scout Day Camp, Webelos Resident Camping Trip, bike riding 17 miles on the Virginia Creeper Trail, going to the Airbound Trampoline Park in Winston-Salem and building boats for the annual Raingutter Regatta race and pool party.
Fall fun is continuing with camping, honoring veterans while performing the flag detail at the Bostian Retirement Client Appreciation Event, collecting mountains of litter during the NC Clean Sweep Event at High Rock Lake, hiking, attending Webelos Only Camporee, attending Dan Nicholas Cub-o-ree, touring Charlotte Airport Fire Department, camping at the annual Gold Rush Trip, taking a 3-day trip to Charleston to sleep on the USS Yorktown, attending Cub Scout Advancement Day where our scouts earned many achievements and awards and marching in the Veterans Day Parade.
2013 will be finished up by being in the Salisbury-Spencer Christmas Parade, camping, going to the NC Zoo and having a Christmas Party.
